Hey, guys!
We have sent YoWindow for Android 10 days ago to Samsung for approval.
Today we have received the feedback.
Unfortunately, YoWindow has been rejected.
The reason for rejection is a very strange blinking that occurs on some devices.
Here's the test video from Samsung that illustrates the problem.
http://yowindow.com/test/add-hoc.wmv
The device on the video is probably GT-S6790N
http://www.samsung.com/africa_en/consum ... 6790MKAXFV
Now we need your help.
Please, can you repeat the case shown on video on your device?
Let us know if your device blinks or not like on the video.
I wish we to find at least one device where this defect is seen now.
We have not seen this defect, nor we were reported about it yet.
Please help!

Hi Pasha,
I can't help you, I've never seen this.
Not on my phone nor on my tablet.
I hope you will find a solution soon.
Goodluck!

Re: HELP! Response from Samsung
Thanks Fred, I have notified all beta-tester by email.
So far I've got around 10 emails - people reporting that everything is good and they have not seen such a defect.
I hope this problem has gone since build 0.56 that we sent to Samsung or we will eventually to find the device where we can test this defect.

Привет Паша. На моем Samsung Galaxy Note такого никогда не было, все последние сборки работают без проблем, никаких ошибок. Желаю удачи.

Top O' The Evening Folks,
Samsung Galaxy S4/SGH-I337M/4.2.2
Have never seen anything even remotely close to flashing. Maybe it is THEIR phone that is defective......?!
Cheers,
Angelique

Hi Pasha,
I can reproduce something similar - see this video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7w7oq ... sp=sharing
It doesn't look as bad as on GT-S6790N though.
The video shows Galaxy Note / Android 4.0.4. The same defect is also repeatable on S3 / Android 4.1.1.
This is build 0.62. I saw this bug on an earlier build (12-Apr), but as it didn't show up in the next build I installed, I didn't pursue it and thought it must have been fixed. Apparently, I mistook the irregular appearance of this bug for the fix. It wasn't fixed in fact.
Here is the scenario. The bug does not always show, but chances are good nevertheless (~20-50%). To increase the odds of running into the problem, go to phone settings, force-stop the app and clear its cache - it seems to help.
1. Run YoWindow.
2. Change location.
3. Change landscape to seaside (if the location you chose at step 2 was already set to seaside, repeat this step twice so that eventually the landscape is seaside).
4. Rotate the phone. Optional step; it just increases the width of the picture, thus increasing the likelihood of the bug to occur (it often appears at the left screen border).
5. Slide right/left to change the time. Scroll through a day or two. If you don't see the bug, go to step 1.
Note the differences from the problem shown in Samsung's video:
* I've only seen it with the seaside landscape, not airport;
* changing both location and landscape seems to be required in my case, while on GT-S6790N it was enough to just change the landscape (even not change, but select the same one).
Max

That is just wonderful!max wrote:I can reproduce something similar - see this video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7w7oq ... sp=sharing
Max, thank you so much!
I was able to reproduce the error quite easily according to your instructions.
Though it took me an hour to dig to the source of the problem.
Turned out there was an error in Waves algorithm.
I suppose it can also occur in Oriental landscape as well.
The fix will be available in the next build.
But, unfortunately this defect has nothing to do with Airport landscape.
There's a chance though that a similar broken logic exists in Airport Widows algorithm.
I'm going to find it out today.
[UPDATE]
No, Windows algorithm has nothing to do with the error.
Once again, thanks so much, just a perfect catch!
But, unfortunately, the Airport flickering bug hunting continues.
