0.9 Sun, Clouds, Parallax scroling

Post by par »

!!!! users in the USA, please unintstall previous build before installing this one.
I expect the new build to detect Fahrenheits correctly.

What's new?

- Sun
- White clouds over blue sky
- Wallpaper: when you swipe between virtual screens the wallpaper is scrolled along.
- Parallax effect - try to swipe the screen with two fingers.
We are introducing this feature for the first time in YoWindow.
- FIXED: landscape on wallpaper is lit wrong

ATTENTION: Nothing in YoWindow picture does reflect the real weather now.
Now we are just testing the visual effects.
Only Sun position is real.
I will let you know as soon as the weather on the picture becomes real.

Hi Pasha,

Another great improvement!
A few first impressions:
par wrote:What's new?

- Sun - Yes
- White clouds over blue sky - Yes

- Wallpaper: when you swipe between virtual screens the wallpaper is scrolled along. - Doesn't work for me

- Parallax effect - try to swipe the screen with two fingers. - Yes! Great feature!

We are introducing this feature for the first time in YoWindow.
- FIXED: landscape on wallpaper is lit wrong - Didn't notice it in the first place, exept when choosing it as wallpaper
Finally, I notice the background needs a little time to be 'build'.
It's too short to screen capture, but can certainly be seen. You see a few blocks before it's there.

There's no cloud movement on wallpaper. In app the clouds do move.

I'm using a Nexus 7 tablet.

Both the app and wallpaper look phenomenal! No major issues found. Just minor issues. First, the wallpaper is a static image. The clouds do not move at all. Second, the current temperature is not displayed for my hometown. There is a question mark next to the city name. However when you scroll to the future in the app, the temperature is displayed. The same is true for minor towns near my location. No current temperature is displayed, only a question mark. (See screenshot). Otherwise, everything else seems to be right on. Nice looking app! The detail is extraordinary!

Bonjour,

:good:

Hi,

I am John from India.

I am using Micromac A110 (Android 4.1.1 version)

Regarding Yowindow Alpha 0.9 (5) version.

Very nice to see White Clouds and Sun. Long wait for Yowindow Android is fulfilling now...

I have identified few things in this version and they are as follows,

Positive points:
1) Sun and white clouds are nice and working fine in application.

2) Parallax effect - Double finger swipe is working fine.

3) When I swipe between virtual screens the wallpaper is scrolling along.

4) Sun position is real as per the location.

Negative points:
3) Clouds not moving in wallpaper.

4) When the Yowindow application is open the screen is flickering. i noticed two type of flickering.
a) First is permanent flickering. It will last till we change to different location. (enclosed screen shot)
Screenshot_2013-10-14-01-21-30.png
Screenshot_2013-10-14-01-19-13.png
b) Second is flash flickering. It will last for 1 or 2 seconds before the village background loads. i tried and captured a screen shot in that 1 second flickering. (enclosed screen shot)
Screenshot_2013-10-14-01-27-39.png
5) Sun rise is hidden behind the tree. (i dont know, whether this is a problem. But, in Yowindow for windows(in my personal computer), the sunrise is at the side of the tree. we can see sun coming out from the background mountain clearly) ---- (Screen shot in next post, as 3 attachment are only allowed in a post)

Thank you for your good work and continuous improvement of Yowindow for android. Hope my feedbacks will be helpful to you.

Kind Regards,
JOHN

It does display in °F now. Wallpaper is messed up. No sun and clouds. Swiping between screens and scrolling does work. Parallax effect does not work. In the app, when I go into the future, all I see is a blue screen (day time).

Hi Pasha,

I need to do some thorough testing.
But my Samsung 2.3.6 has found one big glaring error.

When I first install YoWindow on my Samsung, everything works fine.
I back out of YoWindow and click on the android icon again, I get bits of the landscape floating across the sky.
See picture. My Samsung cannot do screenshots unless I root it. So I took a picture of it.

I exit or back out of YoWindow and shut off the Samsung.
I turn the Samsung back on.
YoWindow works perfect every time.
There are clouds floating across the sky instead of bits of landscape.

It only happens after the install and before I shut off the Samsung.

:( :(
