I think we should just wait a little longer ... ;)
These days I made several tests ... with some success.
Meanwhile, I learned to remove the sky background from a photo, making it transparent, with a free program like Photoshop:

Gimp (http://www.gimp.org).

Then I think I understood that Yowindow is made up of many levels: the level of the starry sky, the level of the picture, the level of the clouds, the light level (which already works!) The level of smoking, the level of the wind (the 'grass that moves)...

...the level of soccer FIFA,

...the level of the rain.

I'm sure we can build any type of background and foreground we see the grass blowing in the wind that moves. :D

Installed 329. Works fine.
Pyramids are fantastic. Now, if any one
out there could send you a picture of
Randolph Air Force Base in Universal City
Texas ( the Taj Mahal Building would be nice),
so you might make a Live sky choice , that would
be the ultimate weather screensaver. 8-)

OK, let me try to put an image here for
you to work with....

Friends, today I have written a tutorial explaining how to turn your picture into a live-sky picture.
First of all I want to warn you - this is a challenging task.
You need to have certain skills to complete it.

So here is the tutorial post.

This is a first draft, I hope to make it better over the next days.
Please share your comments on tutorial here

Franco, very nice landscape, and you are absolutely right there are several layers inside YoWindow - the landscape layer covers the sky and the rain layer covers the landscape.

Why don't you share your landcape in color?

Ora, signor Marco Taranto, la prego (anzi la scongiuro) di spiegare passo passo, in italiano ed in inglese, come si fa a raggiungere questo risultato (parziale, visto che l'erba ancora non c'è). ;)

Now, Mr Mark Taranto, please (even the spell) to explain step by step, in Italian and English, how do you achieve this result (in part because the grass does not exist yet). ;)

Franco, to make YoWindow display the sky over your picture you need to create a special .YWL file.
Read the tutorial about this.

The grass is not supported yet, but I want to add it.
Hopefully soon.
