True pressure

Post by par »

All YoWindow life the current pressure was displayed at sea level.
It was wrong, we have to admit.

Starting today - be sure - the pressure in YoWindow is just right!
YoWindow computes the pressure according to the altitude of your place.
If you live above the sea level - you can rely on YoWindow data.
Enjoy the weather!

:) I don't know.
I've used the equation from this wikipedia article

Then it is also right when you use the atmosperic pressure. It is a nearly linear function.
You can see the diffrerence between sea level and local pressure on the diagram of my PWS from today.

Hi Pasha,

This is a good idea, but I don't really like it, because this is a local pressure value and you can't compare it between different locations. :( It changes in consequence of the weather and the altitude too.
Will you add an option inside Yowindow where you can choose which pressure want you to see? I hope so.

Keep good working. :good:

i want to go with Adrian. For me the previous value - at sea-level - was more valuable because i often compared the presssure between the locations i've set.
An option in the units settings to choose between absolute pressure and relative pressure would be very nice!

Guys, sorry for breaking the functionality.
There have been many complaints about pressure precision in YoWindow.

Most were reported by Russian users.
I wonder why?

Yes, I think we need to give an easy way to access pressure in both variants.
Can we postpone this till YoWindow for iPhone is done?

No problem, you can delay it of course. :)
Anyway, I am really looking forward to the mobile versions, mainly for Android. :)
