Add Bjorli (Oppland) - Norway

Post by Nordic Mike »

Hi. Downloaded the program.... excellent stuff.

My location isn't listed and I tried to fetch the path from yr.no but to no avail.

Any chance of getting Bjorli added? It is an official location as the Met.no have an automatic station here.
Cheers.

Hi. Wondering if you could add Bjorli,Norway?
If so, when would you expect it to be done?
Cheers.

Hmmm - the temperatures is way off for the live view. It is showing around -6c but it is actually -33c.

You can see the last official temp from yr.no for Bjorli.

Hi Mike,

Yr.no gives a forecast.
METAR stations give the current temperature.
They are normally found at an airport.
YoWindow tries to find the closest METAR station to a location.

I tried looking up Bjorli on weather.com to find your closest airport.
I could not find Bjorli on weather.com.
What is your closest town so I can do more research?

Thank you for your help.

Hi Mike,

Click on location > properties.
Change your METAR icao code to ENGM.
That is what Gjovik is using.

Let us know how this works for you.
Thank you for your help.

Hi Marty,

I tried to change the code but it doesn't save it i.e it reverts back to the default.
Besides, it will still be wrong. There is no big location around here, only on the coast about 60km away but there is a huge difference. It is currently -35c !! We are currently in top 3 coldest in the whole of Norway right now. I think it is just met.no who can get current true temps: http://www.europeanweathernetwork.eu/yrtable.php?en Click on Central Norway

I actually do the weather observations for Bjorli (manual only) and I don't know if it helps, but the station number of the automatic station is 61630. Maybe there is a Norwegian prefix ahead of that, not sure?

Using the closest town won't work as Bjorli has a micro climate and is so much colder than nearby towns.

Hi Mike,

If you are recording the weather for your location,
do you have a PWS personal weather station?
You can connect that to YoWindow for the current conditions.
There is a subforum for personal weather stations.
