Wallpaper animation during swiping

Hi. I've just noticed that when I swipe screens in my OnePlus launcher, the animation kicks in during the swipe and then stops again. Perhaps it has always done it and I've just not noticed before? Is that expected behaviour?

I don't understand what is going on.
Maybe you can shoot a video of the effect?
