JulGer, there's an "Enable animations" option in Wallpaper Settings.
It must be turned on now since you see animations on Wallpaper.
Please uncheck it and let me know if the wallpaper still consumes too much resources.

It runs well for some time. Animations and all. Simply beautiful. But the phone gets less and less responsive with it running in the background. After changing to another live wallpaper the phone is usable again and stays this way. Running “Forest“ at the moment.

it's the same with my Galaxy note. First the wallpaper runs fine (with or without animations). After a few hours it slows down the whole phone so I have to disable the wallpaper. After that, the phone works well again...
