Build 3: the About screen is way too slow for the amount of contents it has. When it's being opened for the first time after starting the app:
Also, when using 3G network, I occasionally encountered a fatal error once I touched the Done button after this slow loading of the About screen. Not every time though. Maybe, 3 of 5-6 attempts. It's on iPhone 3GS, iOS 5.1.1.
BTW, the icon is different from the new one (http://he1.yowindow.com/forum/viewtopic ... 56&t=12694) -- is it on purpose?
it takes a second (even on WiFi!) or two (on 3G) for the text to appear:
then one or two seconds more for the icon to appear:
Fortunately, it gets faster next time... until you restart the build.About screen

Re: About screen
I'm trying to find a proper way to present About information.
Right now the feature(?) is in "testing" mode
My experience is a little bit different.
When I open the About page, the text is displayed instantly, but the icon image is loaded 1 - 2 seconds.
Yes, as soon as the HTML page is cached it is displayed instantly.
But. The page and the icon are not loaded from the Internet.
I'm just passing HTML text to the UI control.
I think I'm using a standard way of displaying an HTML on iOS (UIWebView).
And, as you see, it does not work well.
I hope to find a way to do this in a better way before the release.
The icon is just for testing, we will use the new one in the final release.
Thanks!
