I'am back

Post by hermanz »

Hello friends. :good:
After weeks of hard work I moved yesterday.

This morning I woke up with a brilliant view.
uitzicht2.jpg
I can see the horizon over a width of 50 kilometers.
uitzicht1.jpg
This is possible because the Netherlands is very flat.
I start again with the upload of landscapes.

Hi Herman,

Welcome back!
This looks awesome!!

Can´t wait to see more from your view.

I would like to check it out myself someday, if that´s alright with you!

Yep Herman, I was missing you too :)
Welcome back!

I know if you stand in front of the sea and look to the horizon you can see 5 km maximum. Because the Earth is round.
But 50 km is way too far.
My city - Saint-Petersburg is also completely flat.
It was literally built on a swamp.

Hi Pasha,
here a list of geometrical visibility in different eye hights 8)
(This knowledge is very important for us sailors)

eye height and visibility

1 m 3,6 km
2 m 5,0 km
3 m 6,1 km
4 m 7,1 km
5 m 8,0 km
6 m 8,7 km
7 m 9,4 km
8 m 10,0 km
9 m 10,7 km
10 m 11 km
20 m 16 km
30 m 19 km
40 m 22 km
50 m 25 km
60 m 27 km
70 m 29 km
80 m 31 km
90 m 33 km
100 m 35 km
200 m 50 km
300 m 61 km
400 m 71 km
500 m 79 km
600 m 87 km
700 m 94 km
800 m 100 km
900 m 107 km
1000 m 112 km
2000 m 159 km
3000 m 195 km
4000 m 225 km
5000 m 252 km
6000 m 276 km
7000 m 298 km
8000 m 319 km
9000 m 338 km

So you are right with the visibility of 5 km ... but Herman is also right, because he wrote horizontal width :)
