Hi Friends,

You have probably noticed in Fred's post that my area of the World is having SNOW!!!
In 2012, there was absolutely no Winter in my area. The entire year was Summer.
The Winter of 2013/2014 has been the complete reverse. We are currently into our 5th month of Winter.

What has made this Winter really bad is the beginning of January was 40 below zero wind chills. We broke all time records.
My area of the World should have 26 tracking snows for an entire winter. It snowed all day on Wednesday (the 45th tracking snow).
That is how I spent my birthday. Shoveling snow again!!!

But I did get to enjoy my birthday earlier in the week.
I had a couple of emails from Fred over the weekend.
Fred was letting me know about the beautiful weather that Leiden was having.
He also let me know how he was enjoying that warm weather on his ebike.

Fred's emails must have super charged the weather in my area.
Monday was sunny, windy, and 53F. I drove out to the lake where Rascal and I would go walking.
I had a really good walk out at the lake.
Tuesday was sunny, barely any wind, and 64F (18C).
I was able to have my first bike ride of the year.
I had planned on an easy ride since it had been 2 1/2 months since my last bike ride.
But the sun and the warmth felt so good. So I went for an 18.07 mile bike ride. Just under 30 km.
I love riding hills. So I rode to the Village of Lexington which is south of Mansfield.
I rode up one of my favorite hills and flew down another hill.
My maximum speed down the other hill was 40 mph (64 kph).

So even though I had to shovel snow on my birthday, I celebrated my birthday on Monday and Tuesday.
Thank you Fred for sending me some of your warm weather!!!

Thank you for all of your birthday wishes.

Hi Friends,

I received a belated birthday present on Friday.
The temperature warmed over night and there was brilliant sunshine on Friday.
So much sun that I had some visitors from Holland.

If I remove Wednesday and Thursday from this week, the week was perfect.
On Monday, I had an enjoyable walk.
On Tuesday, I had my first bike ride of the year.
On Friday, I had my visitors from Holland.
Those 3 days have made for a perfect birthday week.

I wish all of us sunshine, warmth, and a blue sky.
