confused about snow cover

Yesterday we had the forecast for snow. Yo window displayed it properly, starting as rain. When I moved the slider (time) to a later time it showed the ground in the old town covered in snow. I thought that was so neat! Today, it is showing the snow falling, but no snow on the ground. I advanced the slider and there is no more snow covering the streets, etc. What happened?
thanks

a question about snow in the weather window

When I first downloaded the program Saturday, and I dragged the slider to a time in the future I saw the town covered in snow which was predicted for my area. Now the snow has arrived and we have several inches and there is no snow anywhere in any of the landscapes. In the town there are puddles and the temp is well below freezing. What happened and how can I fix it?
Thanks

Hi,

Snow on the ground is the one element that YoWindow has a problem with.
You need to have a history of how much snow has fallen to display snow properly.

YoWindow uses the temperature to determine when to display snow.
Without a history of snowfall, the temperature works most of the time.

Displaying snow is one of the things that Pasha has on his to-do list.

ok, thanks. I just thought it was so strange that it showed up perfectly that one time, then not again. I am really enjoying the program

If you're in a long period where there's actually snow on the ground you can override

the settings for a stock landscapes on all locations...

Program...Locations...Properties (for the highlighted location)

Check 'override current season'...or something to that effect...

And choose your season from the dropdown box...

Several weeks ago, it snowed a lot in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. For a couple of weeks, the landscapes showed snow on the ground, trees, roofs, etc. And then, without the temperature rising above zero, all the snow in the weather window, disappeared. Yesterday, it snowed all day in Edmonton. Neither Android nor Chrome nor Windows 7 show snow in the landscapes.
Other than this, love this app.
