Flash Player is blocked or missing in Chrome.

Post by tanker »

YoWindow stopped working today. Getting error message: Flash Player is blocked or missing in Chrome. I DO have Flash installed. What is causing this?

Check your Chrome extension settings...
If flash is disabled make sure to tick
the 'developer mode' box...and re-enable it...
Restart your browser...
Let us know the result...

Thanks for the reply, Wally. When I clicked the Developer mode, the following three boxes appeared; 1. Load unpacked extension. 2. Pack extension. 3. Update extensions now.
What do I do with those choices?

Ok...I think I may have misguided you...

In your Chrome address bar type in chrome://plugins/

This will take to the plug-in settings...

By default the Flash plugin is disabled since the latest Chrome update...

Enable it in that window by checking the 'can always be executed' box...(might be a different phrase since I'm using the Dutch version)...

I just tried it myself after I got the same message you have about Flash Player being blocked or missing...

Works like a charm...

Enjoy YoWindow for Chrome...

Wally, I typed in chrome://plugins/ and found that Flash is already checked "Always allowed to run". YoWindow still not working and giving the error message. I checked the comments for the extension in the Chrome Web Store and there is a whole bunch of comments that many, many people have the same issue.

That is indeed strange...

Did you leave the developer mode box checked in the extensions section...Mine is checked...

Flash plugin also checked...

Chrome version 56.0.2924.87 (64-bit) on MacOS which is the latest...

Make sure you re-enable or force reload the YoWindow extension as well...

No issues here...

Flash is enabled. Developer mode enabled. What do IO do with the following boxes that appear after selecting developer mode? When I clicked the Developer mode, the following three boxes appeared; 1. Load unpacked extension. 2. Pack extension. 3. Update extensions now.
What do I do with those choices?

No action needs to be taken there mostly...
Unless you need to manually install an extension...
Make sure that YoWindow is enabled...
Also the latest extension is listed right on top of this page...
Open the downloaded .crx in Chrome and it should install fine...

In the Chrome web store, the latest version is 1.86. Is that up to date? If not, can you get it updated in the store? Can you check and report a problem? Look at all the comments there of all the other people having the same issue I'm having.

Can't check that right now since I'm not on my Mac...
But Yowindow extension version is displayed in the ext. page...
Only the developer can upload a new version...
But you might wanna check out the website version...

http://yowindow.com/toolbar/yowindow.crx

I'll look into the complaints this evening...time permitting...
