I'm using YoWindows mac 2.0 and whenever the computer goes to screensaver, yowindows loads then the fan starts spinning extremely loud.

YoWindow is very CPU consuming program.
Mac fans are turning to cool down the processor running at high performance.
I can only hope that the next version of YoWindow for Mac would not consume so much CPU as 2.0

YoWindows is a very cool screensaver but since the fans are so loud I had to get rid of the screensaver portion which makes the program partially useless. When running Yowindow in the regular desktop environment, the fans do not spin up at all.

Do fans spin when YoWindow is opened full-screen?

I can run YoWindow full screen all day long without the fans spinning at all. This is also the reason why the screensaver might have a cpu leak of some sort. The fans also stay extremely loud after the screensaver turns off and the display stays blank.

Yes, the same thing happens to me. When screen saver kicks in, my fans begin to run all the time. I thought that strange. I hope it can be fixed. I'm on windows 7

I hope we will fix it in YoWindow 3 for Mac later this year.

What about windows 7? Will that be fixed? I am afraid I will burn out my fan so I cannot run it. And this is why I want to use yowindow, that is for the screen saver.

To speak honestly, if it is going to be fixed it will be fixed in the next year.
Another probably way to solve the problem is to fine tune computer power-saver settings.
Probably some other process besides YoWindow is staring in the background when screen-saver is activated.

There's no this problem on any of my PCs.
However all of them are quite contemporary - after 2005

I'm running this on the newest maxed out retina MacBook Pro with 16gb ram and 2.8ghz quad core with nvidia gt650m. It dosen't get more powerful than this.
