Just like on Android we are introducing the new location search on the desktop.
The reasons why the new search makes sense are the following.
- Every location on Earth is available automatically - no need to ask our team to add new location.
- No need to scroll large list looking for your place or learn to switch All/Major locations.
- Not just English. Location names are translated to the user language.
The user looks up location by typing its name it her language.
That makes YoWindow translation complete.
Please report your observations of New Location Search.
Can you find all the places you want?
People behind this solution are Askar Timirgazin and Viktor Kozub.

Re: 4.0.23 New location search
Hi Pasha,
The new location search is working okay except for one area that I know of.
For those of us that like to check out the coldest places, how do I search for
Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station, Antarctica?
I have tried entering Amundsen-Scott and nothing shows.
The android has this problem and now the Desktop has the same problem.
Not everyone is going to be looking up Antarctica.
But for those of us who are interested, how do we do it?

Marty, I'm going to make sure you can add these places at least by using geoname-id.
I don't know why this features is not working at the moment.
Needs investigation.

Hi Pasha,
I also tried adding the research station at Eureka Nunavut Canada.
I tried entering just Eureka.
So far Amundsen-Scott and Eureka cannot be found with the new search.

Re: 4.0.23 New location search
Hi Pasha,
Recently there was a request under Location request.
It was about 2486362; Nara/Algeria.
It's in the database, but the New location chooser doesn't show it.
