Goog morning Rainer, Pavel!
i downloaded the files Rainer provided in this post and loaded it into the desktop version.
strange things happened: i only can see the landscape when i use the png-file in the ywl-definition.
If i use the swf-file i only have a sky and no landscape.

Re: No time bar
Reinhart, this is because .swf generated from .png cannot be opened in the desktop edition due to security issues in Flash. This is ok.
Rainer, this really looks like a networking problem, but I wonder why only a part of the widget is loaded on your side.
There is a main widget hpPal.swf and the user interface (time bar, forecast panel, inspector) windowUi.swf which is seem to fail to load for you.

Re: No time bar
Hello Reinhart,
here we had the same problem:
http://yowindow.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1811
Perhaps it is necessary to point out this fact more.
Reiner & Pasha,
I had a look on Bronberg weather station and Yowindows widget this morning again... time bar is visible.
Do you use the latest flash-player 10.1. ?

Re: No time bar
Pasha,
Have you recently added extra sub domains to your server to balance the load?
If so it looks like the DNS updates have not migrated to South Africa yet as nobody here is able to see the "time bar" etc.
However in Namibia it's visible.
Edit:
It seems to hang on "server2.yowindow.com"
"swf.youwindow.com" seems to be fine.
On the Facebook application all seems to look fine as it's loading from "sh1.yowindow.com".
There I can see the :time bar" ok.

Re: No time bar
Hey, Rainer!
No, the last time I have added subdomains it was several months ago, probably even half a year ago.
The main widget and the interface part with time-bar (windowUi.swf) are delivered from the same server - swf.yowindow.com
So far yowindow is running on 2 servers.
http://swf.yowindow.com/wimo/hpPal/hpPal.swf
http://swf.yowindow.com/wimo/hpPal/windowUi.swf (invisible when opened in browser)
server2.yowindow.com delivers the weather for YoWindow desktop.
If you see the weather in YoWindow server2.yowindow.com is available to you.
This displays the weather for Saint-Petersburg in XML format
http://server2.yowindow.com/cgi-bin/wim ... =gn:498817
Let me know if the links above work for you.
Thank you for the information, unfortunately it seems the problem is somewhere else.

Re: No time bar
I tried this link you gave: http://server2.yowindow.com/cgi-bin/wim ... =gn:498817
an this is what Firefox comes up with:
The connection has timed out
The server at server2.yowindow.com is taking too long to respond.
* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
It's been like this since last Wednesday.

Re: No time bar
Ok I can see the XML file now ... should have waited a "few moments" like Firefox suggested.
But I still have no "time bar" in the widget.
However this is what I get when the widget is small:

Re: No time bar
By the way, the desktop version of Yowindow works fine here ... no problems.
