Problem uploading data from Cumulus

Post by sunfish2 »

Hello
I am using the latest version of Cumulus and running Windows 7.

I wish to display my PWS weather data in YoWindow, and have followed the instructions in the YoWindow tutorial.

I have uploaded the text template, which I am now only able to find in the C drive, as yo_cumulus.txt, not as shown in the instructions on the Yo Window web page.

I have configured the Cumulus internet page correctly, as per the instructions, but the yowindow.xml file is nowhere to be found on my computer. Where do I find it? How do I allow Cumulus to generate this xml file?

Therefore, the data on the text template is not being sent and please can tell me what to do and where I am going wrong.

Thanks

Hello, Peter and welcome to our forum!

I'm sorry but I did not understand your intention.
Can you please clear it up.

Do you want to display your PWS weather in YoWindow desktop on your own computer OR you want to display your PWS weather in the wiget?

You say that you have "uploaded" the text template, but you was supposed to download it from our website.
Or was it just a typo?
Get YoWindow weather app for your phone or tablet.

Par, thanks for the welcome.

To clarify--I wish to display my PWS weather data in my YoWindow desktop.

Yes, "downloading" the text template is what I have done.

Hey, Peter!

It looks to me that you are following some other documentation...

Have you been following this tutorial?
http://yowindow.com/pws_cumulus.php
Get YoWindow weather app for your phone or tablet.

Hm....
Two questions then.

1. Do you have this picture in your Cumulus settings?

2. Can you find C:\data\yowindow.xml on your hard drive?
Get YoWindow weather app for your phone or tablet.

No, I can't find the xml file in my hard drive.

Yes, I have completed the Cumulus files page, as per the instructions in the tutorial.

Hi, Peter!

So the problem spot is that yowindow.xml is not generated, though it supposed to.

As far as I understand the yowindow.xml file must be generated by Cumulus.
If it is not - there's either something wrong with Cumulus setup OR there is an error in Cumulus software.
Document generation from template is a standard feature of Cumulus and it must be working.

I'm sorry but I don't know much about Cumulus tricks.
I don't even own a PWS...

I would suggest you to ask why yowindow.xml is not generated on Cumulus forum.
