PWS, Cumulus and yowindow.xml online

Post by ABQWX »

Hi all,
I followed the tutorial and still can't get it right.
The XML file is being generated and uploaded to my website.
As is my own landscape. Landscape I can get to show but not the weather info from xml.
Any ideas ? Thanks in advance as it still shows NWS info.

here is the <object code I have been playing with.

<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://swf.yowindow.com/wimo/hpPal/hpPal.swf" width="600" height="300">
<param name="movie" value="http://swf.yowindow.com/wimo/hpPal/hpPal.swf"/>
<param name="allowfullscreen" value="true"/>
<param name="wmode" value="opaque"/>
<param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF"/>
<param name="flashvars"
value="location_id=gn:5454711&current_weather_url=http://cherokiwi.com/cumulus/yowindow.x ... bq/abq.ywl"/>
<a href="http://yowindow.com?client=widget&link=stub"
style="width:600px;height:300px;display: block;text-indent: -50000px;font-size: 0px;background:#DDF url(http://yowindow.com/img/logo.png) no-repeat scroll 50% 50%;"
>Desktop weather</a>
</object>

What did I miss ?????

Thanks

Hi ABQWX!

Try to remove the first line in your yowindow.xml as you can see in the screenshot and refresh your site (i'm not sure but i guess this could be the error):

Thanks for the reply -
I did what you suggested - BUT each time that file is generated it gets added.

Still looking for an answer

And you do not have control over the generation process of this file?

Hello Ron,

The path to your xml file (highlighted above) is missing from the widget code on your website.

Ron,

Check your template (yo_cumulus.txt) and make sure the comment tags are not missing from this line.

PWS, Cumulus and yowindows online

Thanks Don and forum - It is now and has been running great -

This is sort of related -

Have had YoWindow for some time now and its great - On my webpage with my own background image all looks OK - when I goto fullscreen it shows text at the bottom right - Forcast from NWS - I use my own info from my PWS - how do I remove the misleading NWS text or change the nws to my station - Thanks

The forecast is from the NWS so that is correct. The actual conditions are from your station so the "Observed" time that you see will be based on the currency of that data.
