'Observed' time

Post by jgillett »

My data comes from my PWS, NWS, and METAR. More often than not, the Observed item shows times greater than an hour. Granted, the METAR usually only updates every hour, but my PWS updates every 5 seconds, and the xml file is being uploaded every 5 minutes. Shouldn't the Observed time more closely reflect this?

Thanks.

Edit:

Hi John,

Welcome to YoWindow.

I have moved your question from Questions to Personal weather station support.
Since you are using a PWS, this is where it belongs.

Thank you,

Marty

John,

That observed time is a holdover from before there was PWS support and is still based on the time of the last Metar. It is one of the things that Pasha has said he'll change but it isn't to the top of the list yet. I just ignore it knowing that it will change someday.
