Perhaps Avast is a slow starter and doesn't allow for any program to open fully untill the anti-virus engine is fully loaded...

Try putting the yowindow install directory in Avast's exception list...

I'm on Windows7 and use AVG internet security 2011 with no issues...so far...

I was referring to the official weather stations Yowindow uses in it's database...

Not the 'internal', privately owned, weather stations...
