Re: Will Weather Underground give us the data?
andreas There are a few more, I'm using WeatherLink and Cumulus as well as WeatherDisplay. As WeatherDisplay is very heavy on system resources, user unfriendly and stalling every ... I try to get rid of it. Besides those there is Virtual WeatherStation and I think those are the major 5. As Cumulus i...

Re: PWS xml-format - sky-rain tag
1. By temperature as proposed by Andreas. Air temp. > 2.0° C = Rain, Air temp. <2.0-1.1°C = A Mix of snow and rain, <= 1.0°=Snow 2. By snow-level. If snow-level > 0 it's snowing. 3. Do not detect. METAR will provide precipitation if the station cannot detect correctly. 4. Your variant. 1) is a vali...

Re: PWS xml-format - sky-rain tag
Sorry about the late reply Pasha, unfortunately we can not measure the difference between rain/sleet/hail or snow. It's all precipitation from our point of view. Off course it's linked to temperature, wind, humidity and will check for any formulae if they excist. A lot of programs will allow input o...

Re: HTML from remote PWS
Best way would be to convince that station to use YoWindow! Then the xml-file would already be there. However I can imagine that the traffic generated by say a couple of 1000 people downloading the xml-file every time would be considerably. Perhaps the pws would not be so happy about that, remember ...

Re: YoWindow XML weather format
Gemini06720 First, no weather software is or will be (in a near future) producing an XML file that is directly compatible with YoWindow Correct. But especially in the countries where there are a lot of metars at a close distance you can always find a metar close to your pws. So why would one have to...

Re: wsMaurik PWS - WeatherLink software
the follwoing template code is working in WeatherLink as long as you use the same units in WeatherLink as required for YoWindow, refer to the http://yowindow.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=368 thread. Use at least YoWindow Version: 2.0.225 Date: January 8 2010 <response> <current_weather> <tempe...

Re: New b225: Use <amount> tag to provide rain/snow intensity
Par, According to http://tripatlas.com/Rain AND http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rain very light rain — when the precipitation rate is < 0.25 mm/hour light rain — when the precipitation rate is between 0.25 mm/hour - 1.0mm/hour moderate rain — when the precipitation rate is between 1.0 mm/hour - 4.0mm/h...

Re: New b225: Use <amount> tag to provide rain/snow intensity
Great Par, that makes it much easier for many weatherstations and avoids the use of php.
I'll check the rainlevels tonight and will let you know how this corresponds to light/heacy etc.

PWS xml-format - sky-rain tag
Hi developers and users, I think most of us PWS people will have problems in filling in those values in the SKY-tag. <precipitation><mode> we can only manually adapt this option as all stations are measuring rain, or melted snow/hail. <precipitation><intensity> we all have a rainintensity (rainrate)...

I can see you have an awfull lot of tags generated, but some of them are in german which would not work for the xml-file yowindow wants.
In general all PWS will have problems in filling those xml-tags, I'll open a seperate thread to look into that.
